The Marina
I was aboard the walk on ferry to Hat Island to check out some homes but the ferry was broken down.
I went onto the sunny deck and made a pillow from my sweater and it felt good to encounter an old friend, Sol, shining down on me, I slipped quickly into a pleasant nap.
I'm thinking this should become a daily routine. If only the ferry would break down more often, and ole Sol would show up more often. It was blue skies yesterday.
The marine air and quiet peacefulness of Marina life complemented the warmth of the sun and I'm not sure how long I slept.
Soon I was awakened to catch a boat ride to the isle and spent the time there until dusk looking at island homes.
Sunset appeared as the ferry, finally functioning for the ride back over crossed the water way back to the Marina, and home on the other side.

Le Pichet in Seattle above Pike on 1st
I'd been told of Le Pichet and finally came for dinner.
I wasn't planning on going but plans shifted from a too casual
visit to, (what do we do now?), in Seattle.
Naturally, looking at Trippin Shoes are always on my radar,
and next door is Le Pichet.
It's not for everyone.
But it's for me!
My entire upbringing as a child eating amazing interesting
unconventional multi cultural food
set me up for this delight.
The wine list is French of course and almost every
wine is sold by the glass.
Perfect for experimenting.
I suspect you can't go wrong.
I'll be buying my vino from them henceforth.
Most wine is not worth bottling in my experience, French and Italian are my favorites.
No Two buck chuck for me!
Throughly enjoyed this simple dining experience.
The whipped cream with the chocolate, you won't
find in a carton at the grocer.
You can make good old fashioned whipped cream
From the cream in the glass bottle
From a local dairy.

A whirlwind tour with family
From Port Angeles, to Lake Crescent, to LaPush, to Port Townsend, to Whidbey Island, Fidalgo Island, Deception Pass and Laconner then to The Everett Marina and Woodfire Grill for a dinner and boat watching, visiting and farewell.
Kathi and James, great family.
We had a wonderful time not well documented though.

Home Again for new friends from The Pacific Crest Trail
I may never encounter you again, still, I treasure you three, and friendship and appreciation require no further ado.
Still, crossing paths again would be delightful.
I write these words to commemorate my gratitude for knowing you on our
Drive from Chelan's ferry terminal (via the boat trip from Stehekin) to Everett yesterday.
Being partners to your final journey ending your thousands of miles by foot, I'll fondly remember you and wish your lives well and full of adventures. And to Dan who arranged your transportation,
What an impression he made in his concern for others, myself included.
I'll remember always Vicki, to replace my shoes every 900 miles!
I hope one day I'll find one or all of you here on my blog or at Rialto Beach, or on a train from China to Finland. Or Stehekin one weekend soon.
Who knows where or why we may connect again?
Cheers
