In Search of Snow and Frozen Rivers..

The search for snow goes on…

Snowy frozen rivers like the Mad River in Entiat, which flows of course. It’s not totally frozen. But it might be depending upon the temperatures and snow covering.

Found this river searching for snow many years ago but even though I’ve returned a few times to see it this way again, it hasn’t happened until now. It’s worth looking for the frozen beauty of this fast flowing river.

Was going to stay in Leavenworth a few nights, maybe longer but it was a Saturday night. The rooms increased over double in a short period of time. And higher.

Some rooms were over 400.00 easy.

Drove on an hour to Chelan. No big deal. There were options closer but was headed to Chelan anyway.

No new snow is falling. Not sure where to go from here. But will stay another day and see what’s going on around here before heading either to Stehekin via boat up the lake 52 miles.

Or and ..Twisp and Winthrop and around those places for snow shoeing and x-country skiing.

Mazama perhaps.

Stehekin Views including Beets.

Got my beets from Karl the organic farmer in Stehekin.
Six super sized beets made lots of pickled beets. 13 jars.

Missing Stehekin and wondering how it would be staying the winter and making pots during my stay.
I'd need a ton of clay.

Some suzani from collection, yellow tulip suzani and yellow rose.

But I'm hoping to get out into nature again soon. Snow or rain forest.
Maybe Vancouver, or wave watching in a storm.
Meanwhile staying warm at home ...

Yellow roses...
