The second 787 flying out of Everett this morning at 9:10, into the wild gray yonder

This one is a Nippon Air, but won't deliver to Nippon.
Boeing keeps the first half bakers dozen.

In these photos you can see the snow geese flying against the hills in the background. I'm afraid iPhone isn't the best camera to use. But it sure is

Look for white dots, then you will see formations and birds..

These are the snow geese I seem to have scared away. Usually this distance wouldn't scare them. But it's hunting season they are wary.

Mt Rainier seen in distance from LaConner Wa

I had to keep this dark to get The Mountain. It's over 250 miles away.
Mt Rainier is over 14,000 ft and is the largest volcano in the Cascade
Mountain range.

Trumpeter Swans in the Skagit Valley yesterday

There are also snow geese. It's hunting season. Hunters were filling
fields with white objects as decoys to lure the birds to shoot them.

The birds were coming in from the south in large beautifully patterned
formations. Againt the back drop of mountains it was simply
exhilarating.

In safe marshlands they landed yet were very wary. I scared them away
when I walked closer but not close to photograph them well. Some seemed to
know it was a safe haven. I'm sorry I scared them away from their food
source. I was surprised they took off with me as far away.

Maybe they could post a sign.

I saw a few hunters with their geese in hand walking out of the marshes.

I also saw a pair of dead mallards in an area where it said, no
hunting allowed. Obviously that was just about killing.

A few paragraphs about my location...Mukilteo Washington

Mukilteo is a small town on the waters of Possession Sound NW of Seattle by 30 minutes.
The Clinton Ferry Transports many of us and visitors to Whidbey Island, to explore it's treasures and those there aboard The Mukilteo Ferry to the mainland to explore ours.
(That Mountain looming in the distance,
some 150 or so miles away is, The Mountain,
as we call it, is a volcano, our very own Mt Rainier)!

This area of the world is beautiful, and variable. A temperate rain forest, trees grow faster here than any place on earth. The Hoh located on The Olympic Peninsula receives somewhere around 150 inches of rain per year, but at Sequim in our banana belt only 17 inches per year.
The tree rings from trees at The Hoh Rain Forest are so large, you can't believe it! Probably a half inch each!

From Whidbey Island which is the 2nd largest island in the US , a ferry is available to take us to The Olympic Peninsula. The small ferry lands after a 30 minute ride at Port Townsend. From there you can drive to Port Angeles and take a ferry to Victoria BC, the capitol of British Columbia, Canada. Or visit the Olympic National Park, Rialto Beach, Shi Shi, Forks WA ,of recent fame, or the stunning Crescent Lake..the list goes on..

From further north of where I live (at Bellingham), you can take the ferry up the inside passage to Alaska. From Anacortez you can take a ferry to The San Juan Islands, Orcas, San Juan, Shaw, and a few others. We are the land of ferry hopping to islands, and we have many more north and south to accommodate our adventures.

We call it God's Country..welcome home!
