Tuffy gets a drink from the rain bowl.

Tuffy is the neighbors cat
He is friends with my cat, The Puddha.
Sounds like a good book, huh?
Tuffy and The Puddha...

This was not the best shot.
Tuffy had had both feet in the pot,
but as I tried to capture that one
he got a little scared and walked away,
so this is the best I could do.

Tuffy likes to visit us because The Puddha
shares his snacks with him.
He just learned to come in the pet door...
and was he ever surprised!!

Their favorite snacks...

Books, The first, T.S. Eliot's, Old Possom's Book of Practical Cats, a favorite..

Deception Pass

I have very fond memories of Deception Pass from when I first moved here
and beached out some weekends there with new friends; crabbing,
and playing, swimming, and eating salmon, crab, of course, and potatoes and corn on the cob..
What a beautiful and intriguing place always. It bridges Whidbey Island to the mainland.
Whidbey Island is the 2nd largest Island in the Continiental US.

Stunning Place..

I think everyone knows I am an Apple lover by now..
and I really want an iPad after my trip to the Apple Store Monday.
I am thinking how cool this is to read Facebook, and the news,
and use my favorite iPhone applications..
So check back in awhile, and I'll tell you all about it, if you don't know already,
touch screen technology is very cool, and so so easy to use you can't imagine..
Facebook for instance with a touch screen is incomparable!
You really need to go play with one!

Home

In the living room at home, my tribal expression
is very noticeable..

I highly recommend this movie, Gabbeh,
even if you aren't learning about Persian Rugs, It is a wonderful movie.
The wonderful thing about Persian rugs is how they are tied to the Geography of the land and the
  Nomadic people. What rich traditions..

Rugs featured here are from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and areas of Iran. Most of these are flat weaves, shown. The one on the couch is part flat weave and part hand knotted, a Heriz, Heris rugs include rugs from the towns of Ahar, Heris, Mehraban, Sarab, Serapi, Bakhshaish, and Gorevan. Rugs are handmade, hand knotted, with approximately 85 to 130 knots per sq inch or flatweaves.
The Suzani Stool shown or ottoman is used for meditation.

Buds

All the flowers are budding and opening up.
And I noticed most colors are pink so far.
Azaleas in pinks, bright and light, and some hot.
These are from my garden. And my large pink Rhodie will open any day now!

Sure there is candy tuft and blue Lilthadora, these light blue irises..
but much I see is pink or red, and it is a sight for sore eyes.

The Western Garden Book is THe Garden book to have. I love the chapter on problem areas, such as plants for wind screens or privacy, etc.

Highly recommended! (by me :-)

Skagit Valley Tulips

It's been pretty breezy in LaConner. We went twice last week.
 My daughter, Daphne, was visiting.
Thursday we were almost blown away..
... but it didn't stop us from having a Snow Goose Produce Ice Cream Cone.

We didn't buy tulips then, we went back Sunday before she left Monday
morning to get them and found Tulip Town to be
most expensive, in both fees to gain entry as well
as for tulips, so we found
another stand to purchase our tulips.

There was a long line at Snow Goose that day for ice cream cones
that are renown in the area.
A large waffle cone for $3.00.

We got to see flocks of snow geese as well, which she had never seen,
and they were swarming.
It was wonderful to share that with her.
