Skagit Valley Tulips

It's been pretty breezy in LaConner. We went twice last week.
 My daughter, Daphne, was visiting.
Thursday we were almost blown away..
... but it didn't stop us from having a Snow Goose Produce Ice Cream Cone.

We didn't buy tulips then, we went back Sunday before she left Monday
morning to get them and found Tulip Town to be
most expensive, in both fees to gain entry as well
as for tulips, so we found
another stand to purchase our tulips.

There was a long line at Snow Goose that day for ice cream cones
that are renown in the area.
A large waffle cone for $3.00.

We got to see flocks of snow geese as well, which she had never seen,
and they were swarming.
It was wonderful to share that with her.

The Western Garden Book is THe Garden book to have. I love the chapter on problem areas, such as plants for wind screens or privacy, etc.
I have used this book for years, way back when I had my landscape business and before.
Highly recommended!

You can get the older edition for a pittance too..$2.89
How amazing is that? Try it, you'll like it!

Moorehaven

In this photo you can see the peonies starting up, the red plants, soon will burst into bloom.
I think peonies have been a favorite along side tulips since childhood.

Moorehaven isn't exactly up and running yet it appears from my excursion there. They have cleaned a lot of growth out, but no fish to speak of, and the grounds were pretty wet. Soon as it warms up and things grow in and fish arrive it may turn out to look pretty good. We shall see..here it is this spring..

Primrose, this one was from Doris. I miss her.
But I remember her smile every time I see this primrose.

Copper Gutter Adaptor (Reducer) for Rain Chain Installation

I'm planning on making my own rain chain of clay, the material I work with.
Copper turns a turquoise color as you know, with time and weathered conditions.
I have the perfect glaze, already turquoise..!

Antique stores with gardening stuff and yesterday I received my mum cuttings to cultivate

Some victorian looking wire baskets, and garden trellises..

..so given to imagination..

3 for 79.00

and yesterday I received my 11 mum cuttings form Kings Mums in Oregon City

I planted them in 5" pots and put them in the greenhouse.

So now I'm thinking ahead to fall.

I may buy some more, some cascading mums, perhaps, so many to choose form.

I can't decide, go figure!
