This is me in Nagaoka Niigata Japan, obviously studying ceramics!!

I hardly ever do this, but here is a pic of me in Japan, Niigata prefecture at an old 16th c house.
I'll have to scan pics and add more, such a cool house, I want one like it, only smaller..
I almost moved here permanently.. or well, part time here and part time there, and I can say I really really miss and love Japan.

Some of my sculptural and thrown work in ceramics too...winged vessel series, and some porcelain with engobe that is an interesting story for another time.

Wedding, and Winged Vessel I and II

I didn't marry you because you were perfect.
I didn't even marry you because I loved you.
I married you because you gave me a promise.
That promise made up for your faults.
And the promise I gave you made up for mine.
Two imperfect people got married and it was the promise that made the marrigae.
And when our children were growing up, it wasn't a house that protected them; and it wasn't our love that protected them - it was that promise.

I was staying NE of here for a workshop last Nov. and was at a B&B.
Met these lovely folks and was invited to the wedding three times.
It was the most beautiful wedding in the snow.
