Snow snow snow

Just some of the amazing snow in the mountains. Mt Baker has had record snowfall. I may drive up tomorrow and snowshoe. If you don't hear from me call the snow rescue teams!!

The Skagit Valley today

Trumpeter Swans were in so many fields. We pulled over and watched them and listened to them making honking sounds and sweet sounds. No trumpeting today though.
The daffodil fields are opening. In a few days they'll be full bloom and like fields of sunshine.
But Baker had 24" of snow yesterday. And for March I think 120". Needless to say, it wasn't visible today. It's getting an inch of snow every hour!!

Fruit of Quince, Abelia, Forsythia.

I love these old fashioned plants!!

The camellias blooming outside my window drew me out to snap a few pics

Camellia, the red is quince and I have fruit too. The forsythia is starting to bloom and abelia too.

Chrysanthemums in the mail

We'll be getting our Japanese chrysanthemums in a few days and it's not as warm as we'd hoped it would be. Fact is, it's freezing.
These require considerable cultivation. But they are worth it.
We just planted new Hellebores with the few from last year which are flourishing this year.
Look for photos later.
