Dinner and movie in Seattle

I found something that reminded me of my friend Kim at Kobo, ( Capitol Hill Kobo) so thats the best time to buy a gift. They wrap as they do in Japan, free, and so beautifully. When I was in Japan, they wrapped anything you bought, and they are not structured wraps, but wabi sabi like this,,, pretty huh?

The lodge at crescent lake. Laura Bush stayed here on her visit to Washington. It's in the Olympic national park.

This lodge is a small lodge, not like some of the grand lodges back east.

Roosevelt stayed here, and Laura Bush has also stayed here. There are only 4 rooms in the lodge proper.

They each face the lake. There are cottages, and cabins and a few small motel units.

The Cottages are usually full around two years out, and often have a waiting list.

I can't help but wonder where Laura stayed, and what she thought of this cozy warm lodge

with a sweet veranda over looking the 9 mile long clear cold lake.

It's one of my favorite places and is in the National Park.

The Hoh River. A reflection of birch trees in a small pond where salmon await the rains to return them to the river of life.

Some fall color at the Hoh.

The Hoh again.

Rain forest gets about 250 inches of rain a year and I'm dry, so
lucky. Trees grow faster here than any place on earth.
