Hoping these post this time. Mt Rainier recently at Sunrise.

The flower is worth enlarging. It's an avalanche lily.
Other shots are of Mt Rainier at the Sunrise area, and pine seedlings along the road way which I photographed to look large against a blue sky with puffy white clouds.

Sunrise is the first area I ever went to at The mountain. It was a long time ago. A warm sunny July day I believe. Much more snow was melted then. But there was just enough for me to twist my ankle running in the icy stuff.

Thinking back I recall there was a signal coming from up on the mountains top. And also that day while hiking I almost ran smack into a black bear.

But here I am years later, after being in the vicinity of many a black bear, even a mother with cubs, and I've lived to tell it. :-)

Grizzlies are another story. I hope I don't run into a grizzly.

Rainbow at (white River) Mt Rainier

I have been sending in photos via phone, but lately they aren't posting. Here is one recent photo of a rainbow I saw leaving Sunrise. It was so vivid I couldn't get out of the car fast enough to see it. I am still so excited. It's the brightest rainbow I have ever seen. You have to click on it to open it to see how bright it is.

This is hand woven mosquito netting made in Japan in the early 1900's

I don't know what I'll make with it. The yellow is very rare. Normally it's dyed indigo or this blue green, which was first dyed yellow with indigo as the second color.

Instruments I made at the beach, From kelp, Rialto Beach near Forks,WA

I made these horns, or flutes from sea kelp on the beach at Rialto Beach.

I decided to tie them together to get different sounds. I also filled the bulbous ends with sea sand to make a rattle.

I have already been offered money for a single rattle flute

These I call medusa flutes

Buy one now before The Metropolitan Museum gets wind of these, and 

believe me, they carry on the wind. A bit fishy smelling  :)
