A foggy morn.

The fog is so soothing, near water where it forms it keeps temperatures more even. For years I have used a humidifier in my bedroom, even living in this moist clime. I find that I feel better sleeping with moist air, it's not stuffy. Some people thought I was a nut, but as it turns out, now they have found that it actually defends physically against germs, which cling to moisture and fall to the ground quickly.( A very physical explanation).

 I don't get colds either, at least rarely. I use a humidifier air filter so it also clean the air.

I think i'm going to get a whole house one next.

Good cookware that preserves vitamins and nutrients also uses very little energy cooking.
Heat it up, cover and it will pretty much cook with no additional heat, maybe on very low. This is Staub cookware from France, it's cast iron with enamel.

The mushroom recipe is from Gourmet cookbook. I taught myself to cook gourm-ishusing this cookbook many years ago. The Gourmet Cookbook Volume II (Revised)
I'll either broil the mushrooms it or add it to the chicken
which is now simmering under chopped onions.
The potatoes are simple, onion, small amount of butter, one with soy milk, the other with 2%.

Beets slow cooked and some with greens.

Waiting for my new slow Juicer, omega 350 HD.

I'm supposed to go dairy and gluten free. It's a whole other world.
I'm not even sure what that means yet except walking the grocery isles with a glazed look on my face and my stomach rumbling.

My approach to everything is beauty tho. It's how I clean house, cook, shop,
Travel. Etc.

I'm considering a new blog to chart my course and express my motivation via beauty to accomplish this.

I'll accomplish this by refraining from eating out and buying Pillivuyt porcelain dishes instead, to make dining on this diet , well, Bon appetite.
And yes, cooking with Staub enameled cast iron is a plus. It cooks with very little heat and is waterless cooking. very nice stove or even to table then to frig. It's very nice looking too.

Making soy yogurt now.

I just bought this new Yolife yogurt maker for yogurt. I used to make it in my slow cooker. But I've been taken off dairy, so I'm doing soy, and coconut milk etc yogurt. It's ok I miss my indo European yogurt though.

This yogurt maker is marvelous. It has two lids, one tall for large quart size jars, and a small one for short jars. It's just nice to not have to mess with the crock pot. Besides I cook soups in it this time of year.

day to be out in the Skagit Valley. Snow fields, fog, swans, beauty.
I'd never seen Baker steam before. I wonder if she's up to something?
